This updated curriculum adheres to the standards of SB2, meeting the compulsory 16-hour training requirement that became effective on January 1st, 2024. This training is structured as a multi-day program, spread across two days, with each day's session running from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

The initial 8-hour session (8:30am - 4:30pm) will take place at our shooting range, located at:

- Address: 22100 E. Fork Rd, Azusa, CA 91702 (Burro Canyon Shooting Park Range)

The subsequent 8-hour session (8:30am - 4:30pm) will be conducted in a classroom setting at our sub-office, located at:

- Address: 5321 Via Marisol, Los Angeles, CA 90042

This class has been meticulously designed for Los Angeles County residents who are seeking to apply for a CCW permit issued by the Sheriff’s Department or Police Department in Los Angeles. The curriculum aligns with California Penal Code 26150 et seq., and adheres meticulously to Department policy and procedures. 

For new applicants, the course provides a comprehensive training that lasts 16 hours. It includes instruction on firearm safety, firearm handling, shooting techniques, mental health, and laws regarding the permissible use of a firearm. To ensure safety and compliance, all firearms are inspected by the training provider in accordance with CA state and federal regulations. The course concludes with a live-fire course, which applicants must pass for each firearm to be listed on the license.

In addition to this, the course imparts knowledge on how to safely operate a firearm, understand the applicable state and federal laws concerning firearms, and provides guidance on how to treat a gunshot wound. 

As an added value, we have incorporated our 'Stop The Bleed' concepts from First Responders, at no additional fee. Also, there is no additional firearm fee.

  • Pistol(s) to be on record. (Only 3 max)
  • Quality KYDEX Outside or Inside the Waistband Holster, (No SERPA)
  • 3 magazines
  • Approximately 200 rounds of ammunition for your first weapon platform.
  • Approximately 50 rounds EACH for your second and third weapon platform. 
  • Eye protection/glasses

Is this really a 16-hour course for initials? 

Yes, per the requirements of all the issuing agencies, the initial course is 16 hours.

 

What is a magazine carrier?

A magazine carrier is equipment used to store and secure your magazines.

 

Is it required to have a magazine carrier to attend the class?

No, it is not required but highly recommended, as it will enhance your experience by allowing you to test your gear in a class and range setting.

 

Is it required to bring 3 magazines per gun? What if I only have 2 magazines? 

While bringing 3 magazines is not required, it is highly advised to improve your training experience.

 

Do I need a holster for the handguns I am putting on my CCW license?

Some agencies require a holster to be inspected on the day of qualification, while others do not. Please check with your issuing agency to ensure compliance before attending class.

 

What kind of ammo should I bring to the range? 

Please bring brass range ammo. Steel ammo is not permitted, and hollow points are not recommended.

 

When will I receive my training certificate?

- For 16-hour students: After completing the full 16 hours of training. 

 

Can I qualify with a weapon that is not under my name? 

No, the weapon must be registered under your name to be added to your proficiency form.

 

I signed up for the Non-resident Arizona CCW. When can I apply for it? 

After completing your training, you will receive an email from us with your certificate and detailed instructions on how to apply for your Arizona CCW. Please carefully follow all the steps outlined in the email.

 

How much is the Arizona CCW add-on?

The fee for the Arizona CCW endorsement and training certificate is $95.

 

Can I use my LA/SB/OC County certificate for the Arizona CCW?

No, Arizona will deny your application if you attempt to use your LA/SB/OC county certificate.
