Where Medic Up Trains
Medic Up conducts its live-fire CCW training at Burro Canyon Shooting Park in Azusa. The second day of the 16-hour initial course is classroom instruction in Los Angeles. This gives San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles applicants access to a dedicated outdoor live-fire environment while keeping the legal/classroom portion in Los Angeles.
Training Beyond the Qualification
Don’t just qualify. Learn how to carry.
Medic Up’s CCW program is designed around responsible real-world concealed carry. Depending on the course, students receive practical instruction in safe firearm handling, defensive handgun fundamentals, drawing from concealment, live-fire skills, California CCW law, use-of-force decision-making, firearm transportation and storage, law-enforcement contacts and emergency medical response.
Law-Enforcement Instructors
Our training cadre includes active and retired law-enforcement and first-responder instructors. The emphasis is safe, professional instruction and practical decision-making rather than simply firing the minimum qualification course.
Stop the Bleed
Medic Up integrates hands-on bleeding-control training into its CCW curriculum. Students practice recognizing severe bleeding, direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquet application.
Practical Holster Skills
Initial students train with safe, quality concealed-carry holsters and receive instruction on safe presentation from concealment. Equipment requirements are provided with registration.

LAPD
LAPD requires the Live Scan ATI number to complete the renewal application. Use its designated form. Official LAPD instructions.
San Bernardino County Sheriff (SBSD)
Submit the renewal application, then complete Live Scan and upload the completed form through Permitium Order Tracker. Official SBSD instructions.
Pasadena and Arcadia
Wait for agency training instructions. Pasadena requires completion within 60 days of authorization; Arcadia says not to schedule Live Scan, training or a psychological examination until instructed. Pasadena instructions · Arcadia instructions.
Renewal submission dates and late-renewal procedures vary by agency. An expired permit does not authorize concealed carry. Training alone does not renew your license.
