Whittier CCW Training | WPD Initial & Renewal

Whittier CCW Training

Medic Up Consulting provides California CCW training options for Whittier-area applicants pursuing an initial or renewal concealed carry license.

Whittier Police Department CCW Process

Whittier Police Department currently accepts CCW applications from Whittier and Santa Fe Springs residents. Applications are submitted through WPD's Permitium portal and include background investigation, Live Scan, psychological review, approved firearms training, weapon inspection and shooting qualification.

LASD renewal note: WPD states that if your initial CCW license was issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, renewal applications must be submitted through LASD.

Initial and Renewal Training

WPD requires new applicants to complete the applicable California initial training requirements and renewal applicants to complete an approved 8-hour renewal course. WPD also states that online firearms courses are not accepted and that applicants must qualify with their listed weapons.

For renewal applications submitted to DOJ on or after September 1, 2026, WPD states that new Live Scan fingerprints are required.
